Published on: 14/09/2022
From September 14 to 16, 2022, Accra (Ghana) will host the second continental conference on Knowledge Management for Agricultural Development (KM4AgD).
The KM4AgD conference is being held this year alongside the Science and Partnerships for Agriculture Conference (SPAC), simultaneously with three other conferences.
The first iteration of the KM4AgD conference was held from December 6 to 10, 2021 in Accra, culminating in the signing of the Accra Declaration on Knowledge Management (KM) for Agricultural Development.
The 2022 conference will close the 2022 edition of the KM4AgD Challenge.
It will also enable stakeholders and participants to pursue efforts to implement the recommendations of the Accra Declaration on KM for agricultural development, with the aim of achieving the Continental Agenda for Agricultural Research for Development in KM in Africa.
Participants in the KM4AgD Challenge will have the opportunity to present their country/organization's KM concept projects for validation, receive "Certified Knowledge Agent for Sustainable Development" certificates, be integrated as members of the KM4AgD Community of Practice for Artificial Intelligence in Africa and the Center of Excellence for Knowledge Management, and network with the global KM community.
The KM4AgD Challenge is a flagship project for knowledge-based development in AR4D in Africa, taking place every year in a growing number of countries.
Overall, the conference should usher in a new cadre of professionals with the skills and networks to drive the KM4AgD program forward in Africa.
The specific results expected are as follows:
The KM4AgD Challenge initiative is supported by the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme ex-Pillar 4 (CAADP-XP4), which is funded by the European Union Commission. CAADP-XP4 funding is administered by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
