The regional situation regarding the spread of COVID-19 is evolving and is a major concern for us all. The CORAF Executive Secretariat, based in Dakar, is in close contact with all its implementing partners to ensure the continuity of its strategically prioritized program activities. However, the conduct of field actions is subject to public health advice from the respective national governments of our countries of intervention, as well as from our main regional partners.

So far, while international travel has been suspended, we have suspended non-essential intra-country travel to current project sites:

• Partnership for Agricultural Research, Education and Development (PAIRED)
• Strengthening networks and institutional capacities in plant breeding for the development of resilient crops meeting the needs of West African farmers (ABEE)
• Anticipating and managing biological risks to strengthen farmers' resilience to climate change in West and Central Africa
• Climate-responsive agricultural transformation in West and Central Africa (CAADPXP4)

However, the Executive Secretariat's technical team and support staff are working remotely to continue advancing our research and support programs for food and nutrition security, as you can see below:

• CORAF adjusts its priorities and modus operandi to cope with the COVID-19 pandemic
• Learn from the 2016 Ebola crisis response during which CORAF played a key role in rebuilding the agricultural research and development systems of affected countries in West Africa.
