CORAF is an important organization working to improve food and nutrition security in West Africa. CORAF's recent initiatives are a promising sign of its determination to meet the challenges facing West Africa.
The future of CORAF in question

The West and Central African Council for Agricultural Research and Development (CORAF) is organizing its 12th General Assembly from April 10 to 12, 2018, at the King Fahd Palace Hotel, Dakar on the theme "the future of CORAF in ever-changing regional and international environments".
Representatives of producer organizations, the private sector, civil society and agricultural policymakers, as well asresearchers from national agricultural research systems in Africa, Europe, America and Asia, will take part in this important meeting.
The opening ceremony will be presided over at 9am on April 10 by Senegal's Minister of Agriculture and Rural Equipment, His Excellency Dr Papa Abdoulaye SECK, in the presence of his ministerial counterparts from the 23 CORAF member countries, representatives of development partners, the ECCAS Director of Agriculture, the ECOWAS Commissioner for Agriculture, Environment and Water Resources, and the Chairman of the CORAF Board of Directors, Dr Alioune FALL, Director General of ISRA.
A panel of Ministers of Agriculture and Research will be organized on the theme of "valorizing research achievements and financing agricultural research", following the establishment of the Council of Ministers and the signing of CORAF's revised Constitution.
