The CORAF Annual General Meeting will be held in two phases

The 13th Ordinary Session of the CORAF General Assembly will be held in two parts. The first phase will include a virtual business meeting in April 2021 dedicated to the renewal of CORAF's governing bodies and manuals. The second part, scheduled for January 2022 in the Chadian capital, N'Djaména, will focus on scientific exchanges.
The 13th iteration of the CORAF General Assembly was originally scheduled for April 2021. But due to travel restrictions imposed by most states to limit the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Board of Directors decided it was safer to postpone it until 2022.
"The health crisis situation being experienced worldwide due to the COVID-19 pandemic makes it unlikely that this forum will be held on the desired dates," said CORAF Board Chair Dr Angela Moreno in official correspondence, in a letter announcing the postponement.
The General Assembly is CORAF's supreme decision-making body. It is made up of representatives of national agricultural research systems, regional and international research institutions operating in West and Central Africa, regional economic communities and development partners.
During the last edition held in Dakar, the new strategic direction (Strategic Plan 2018-2027) was debated and approved. According to CORAF's statutes, the General Assembly is held every three years. It often rotates between West and Central Africa, the two regions covered by CORAF. As West Africa hosted the last edition, Chad volunteered to host the 13th.
