The members of the CORAF/WECARD Board of Directors met from June 22 to 24, 2016 for the 21st ordinary session of their body in Dakar, under the chairmanship of Dr Alioune FALL, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

They examined, discussed and approved the dossiers submitted to them on financial aspects, program and project results, and issues relating to CORAF/WECARD governance. They made concrete proposals to ensure that CORAF/WECARD's strategy is aligned with and takes into account the major regional and international agricultural reforms initiated by the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP), the AfDB and the European Union.

At this session, Dr Abdou TENKOUANO, the Executive Director attending his first Board meeting, shared his vision for the management and operation of CORAF/WECARD. This vision is based on three axes: stabilization, reorganization and reconstruction, with short, medium and long-term priority actions based on the involvement of all CORAF/WECARD stakeholders, as well as an innovative partnership strategy.

This vision was endorsed by the Board members, who promised to support the Executive Director in these reforms, which will help modernize CORAF/WECARD.
