AGRINUT is a USAID-funded project implemented by the CORAF consortium, ChildFund and the NGO FODDE. It aims to improve the nutrition of women and children in the southern zone, more specifically in Kolda, Sédhiou and Ziguinchor.

Countries of operation
MAIN OBJECTIVES
The main objective is to improve the nutritional adequacy of diets for women and children under 5 in 3 regions (Kolda, Sédhiou, Ziguinchor) and 44 communes in Casamance. Specifically, the project aims to: 1) Strengthen women's empowerment in food systems by developing activities that will promote: increase women's decision-making power -increase and diversify women's livelihoods -improve women's access to financial resources 2) Increase the consumption of healthy, nutrient-rich food throughout the year by: -increasing the availability of and access to a variety of nutritious foods -improving hygiene practices and the use of drinking water -increasing and adopting nutritional behaviours
EXPECTED IMPACTS
  • 150,000 beneficiaries (women and children under 5) in 44 communes
  • 25% increase in women's income
  • Minimum food diversity achieved by 60% of women
