MAIN OBJECTIVES
The overall objective of the RADiUS project is to ensure the sustainable economic, food and nutritional security and sovereignty of populations by supporting the agroecological transition of farms in West and Central Africa, through the promotion of principles, assessment tools, knowledge and innovative solutions. More specifically, it aims to intensify the dissemination of agricultural technologies and innovations on a regional scale in CSA, using CORAF's MITA26 platform, which centralizes/facilitates access to information for optimal knowledge management, gap identification and data valorization for the benefit of the community. In addition, the project aims to strengthen the agro-ecological capacities of stakeholders through support for continuing education and university training services, as well as the development of community entrepreneurship. Finally, it also aims to promote a legal and institutional framework conducive to the development and adoption of agroecology in WCAs, by deploying standard monitoring-evaluation tools and lobbying political bodies at various levels.
EXPECTED IMPACTS
  • The dissemination of agricultural technologies and innovations is strengthened in West and Central Africa through CORAF's MITA platform.
  • Continuing training and higher education services strengthen the agro-ecological skills of players capable of implementing actions in favor of the agro-ecological transition, which can lead to community entrepreneurship.
  • The network's target players benefit from a legal and institutional framework conducive to the development and adoption of agroecology.
