Administrative and financial capacity building for TARSPro management teams
Published on: 07/11/2022
From November 07 to 09, 2022 in Saly, CORAF is building the capacities of some thirty people involved in the implementation of the scaling-up of agricultural technologies and innovations to increase the resilience of production systems and family farms in West and Central Africa (TARSPro) project. The beneficiaries of these training courses come from the National Agricultural Research Institutes (INRA) of the 5 countries targeted by TARSPro, from CORAF and from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), the project's financial partner.
"This training is a refresher course for country players directly involved in TARSPro management. It will equip them not only in administrative and financial management, but also in aspects linked to monitoring and evaluation, with a view to optimizing the project's results and thus having a greater impact on improving the living conditions of young people and women producers and processors in their respective countries". Dr Emmanuel NJUKWE, Director of Research and Innovation at CORAF.
The aim of the training, now in its second year, is to harmonize the financial and activity reports of the various partner institutions. It will also strengthen the technical capacities of accountants, monitoring and evaluation (M&E) managers and focal points in terms of internal procedures specific to CORAF and Swiss Cooperation.
Thanks to the contribution of SDC management experts, the various participants should be able to grasp the prerequisites for quality deliverables.
CORAF is interested in ensuring that its implementing partners are equipped to respond effectively both to quality requirements in terms of fiduciary management of programs and projects, and to compliance with procedures approved by the Swiss Cooperation", emphasized Mrs Safouratou ADARIPARE, Director of Management Services at CORAF.
