Death of former CORAF Executive Secretary

The former Executive Secretary of the West and Central African Council for Agricultural Research and Development(CORAF), Dr Ndiaga Mbaye, passed away after a brief illness.
Dr Mbaye, who headed CORAF from 1990 to 2003, died on Saturday, January 5, 2018 in Dakar, Senegal.
The Senegalese-born researcher will be remembered for his work in promoting research and development in Africa, and for directing several crucial food security development projects in West Africa.
Dr. Mbaye's death leaves a great void in the CORAF family and in the scientific community in Senegal, Africa and worldwide.
Dr Mbaye was a veterinarian, nutritionist and former researcher at the Institut sénégalais de recherche(ISRA).
